After returning to their hometown, co-owners and Penn Yan natives, Ben Comstock and Jim Coriale both saw an opportunity to get back to their roots. Out of their passion and love of all things food and crafting a one-of-a-kind experience in the community they love, True Roots Food Truck and Full Service-Catering was born.
Opened in 2019, it didn't take long for True Roots to become a staple in the Penn Yan and Finger Lakes community. Their hopes for True Roots is that it becomes a staple in their local community for years to come, a place that people think of when someone asks, "Where's the best place to eat in the Finger Lakes?"

In 2017, co-owners Ben Comstock and Jim Coriale took the chance and opened up their very own Food Truck. It was here where they first started to craft their elevated and unique approach to farm-fresh, gastro pub fare.
True Roots Food Truck was the first gourmet-style food truck to serve Penn Yan and the Finger Lakes area. Their goal was to reinvent the neighborhood food truck to create a timeless fusion of old and new, blending familiar comforts with their own local flair. From satisfying staples to their own unique creations, they truly have something for everyone.
But why start with a Food Truck when the food they were making didn't necessarily fit into the Food Truck mold? They wanted to make their food accessible. No matter where they were or what type of event they served, True Roots Food Truck was there to put a smile on everyone's face.
